How it Began & how it’s going.

I found yoga  when I was in my late teenage years. A friend became a yoga instructor and prompted me to attend one of her classes. I was so out of element, so anxious and stressed. I vividly remember the feeling, the overwhelm and the narrative going on in my head. What I knew in that moment was that I needed to find space in the back of the room and once I was on my mat, I just needed to stare at the ceiling until it started and from there, I would try and figure it out. This friend kept prompting me to show up, so I did. I told myself I was safe within the four corners of my yoga mat, every time I left the class I always felt better.

At the time I had no idea what those moments would turn into. Anytime I felt the overwhelm of life I would return to the mat. I was always searching for a studio, for teachers that would give me something more, plant seeds of inspiration and quietly and gently, make me feel seen. Yoga is what helped me find my breath, it showed me that the pain I was carrying was not mine to hold, it allowed me to comfortably move through moments of grief, anger, joy, resistance, but most importantly it taught me how to come home to myself. Yoga was the path to breathwork and the path to taking control over my own life.

Breathwork has changed my life in more ways than I can express. It’s become a daily ritual for me to move and breath before the world wakes up and before I do anything else with my time. It’s taught me more about myself than words combine and has allowed me to find a grounding practice in this everyday life. It’s helped me heal from an almost death experience and meet myself with grace and compassion.

I have such a deep passion for this work that I feel this fire inside of me to share the learnings with whoever is ready to show up. Our breath is the one thing we own that no one can take from us and that in itself is unbelievably powerful. This world needs more connection to self, more love, more resistance to the noise and space for individuals to feel seen and I’m here to spread the word.

Off the mat, you can find me in the outdoors and or creating. I love to dabble so that’s included everything from ceramics, painting, hand made rugs, collaborations with others, flower designs and more. Throughout my life my art has always tied back to earth and nature. Art and creating has healed me in a lot of ways, whenever I feel a calling to create, you can usually find me on the ground, I somehow always gravitate to the earths floor.

I feel it’s my life’s purpose to help guide others in finding everyday practices and toolbox techniques that can help guide you back to yourself. Activating a calm nervous system is simpler than it seems now a days, but it takes effort. This world can seem overwhelming and as a society we are turning to numbing and avoidance. By taking the steps to learn about our emotions, nervous system, mind and body, we can begin to build toolbox’s that are specific to our individual needs. These tools are what we can turn to to feel empowered and to have a balanced life.

I’m a firm believer that a lot of the answers live within us, not outside of us.

You can always find me continuing my learnings from different teachers, going to different studios and exploring different techniques, researching and reading.
